This is a story about a lost fox with a mysterious past and a natural strong bond with fluffy creatures that dwell in the sand. A journey about overcoming challenges, failing, dreaming and enjoying the simple things in life.

Lost BeginningsThe sun was blazing hot, shining down on the endless desert. In the midst of the dunes, a fox lay there, with golden blond hair, almost like she was part of the sand. As she woke up, she slowly started looking around all confused. The desert seemed to stretch on forever. Kobi had no idea how she ended up in this place or where she came from. Her memories felt like a dream. All there was left was emptiness. As she tried to get up to search for shadow, she lost her balance and flopped back onto the warm sand. It was at this moment, she felt a soft nudge on her hand. Startled, she looked around and saw this fluffy creature with curious eyes, it was a Sandling! These enchanting beings had big floppy ears and pretty patterns all over their bodies. The Sandling uttered a cute sound. Soon after, more of them popped up from the sand. They surrounded Kobi, all looking at her with curiosity. Each one had its own unique pattern as if the desert itself created them. They guided Kobi to a shelter in the dunes. That’s when she realized she wasn’t alone. The Sandlings had decided to stick by her side. Maybe they could feel her confusion and loneliness or maybe there was another reason, a reason we may yet have to discover.

SandlingsTime flew and quickly turned into months. Kobi, who has been observing sandlings all this time, noticed some characteristics. Sandlings each have their unique personality! Some are patient and loving, while others are bold and savage. They do have some things in common, they roll, strong enough to crash through rocks. They often need to get groomed as they shed a lot. Kobi spends hours brushing them and enjoys these moments since it brings her close to the creatures she has grown to love.Kobi watched how they loved digging in the sand to find these shiny colourful shards, these were Relic Shards! They had ancient symbols and markings that Kobi could not read. Sandlings would bring these shards to her in hopes that it would give clues about her past. They have decided to collect relic shards to unlock new and untold mysteries. Like, do sandlings have more to them than their playful nature? Where did they come from? Sandlings may have been able to hide the truth about their origins to Kobi but there is one thing they cannot hide, their love for gamba! Sandling wager their hard earned “Golden Sands” in totally fair coin flips. The game is simple yet exciting. Kobi flips the coin and sandlings watch the coin spin in the air until it lands either on ears or tails. Can you imagine if it landed on the side?

The "Golden Sand"One day, Kobi came across this golden sand that sparkled under the sunlight. She felt quite whimsy and named it "Golden Sand". She began using it as currency to trade with sandlings in exchange for their help. Sandlings knew of course that this so-called "Golden Sand" was just normal ordinary sand but they decided to play along with hopeless Kobi. Maybe because they were fond of her or maybe there was another deeper reason? Why did they humour her so? What was it that the Sandlings saw in her, beyond the lost girl she believed herself to be?

Awakening of IbokLife in the desert has its dangers. Whenever Kobi experienced extreme emotions, a power within her would awaken and transform her hair and eye colour. She would have no memory of what happened during these moments. Sandlings that witnessed the transformation, gave it a name… Ibok! When Ibok awakens, Kobi becomes stronger, fiercer, yet out of control. Sandlings take care of her every time she collapses from exhaustion. It was after one of these transformations, sandlings decided to place three emerald gems on her belt. Kobi was honoured for the sentimental gift, however she did not know that these gems actually helped sandlings locate Kobi when she was lost.

Dune of ConspiracySandlings have wild thoughts sometimes, they would accuse Kobi of ridiculous imaginations. One popular theory claimed she had a hidden basement full of dark secrets. No matter how often Kobi assured them otherwise, they don't believe her one bit! Sandlings go a step further sometimes and use these crazy theories as an excuse to stir up trouble. They create riots and cause chaos in the den. Kobi knew she had to find a way to keep peace. Introducing the Megaphone! Kobi would use her megaphone to get the attention of sandlings and with a calm tone, she would send the mischievous sandlings to "The Corner". This is a spot in the den where sandlings can go to reflect on their actions. However sandlings turned this “time-out” corner to a cosy hangout spot instead. They filled it with soft piles of sand and instead of reflecting, they lounge there, chatting and napping until they decided they are ready to return. While the plan of keeping order may not have worked for Kobi, sandlings are having fun and that’s all that ever mattered ~
